Janie Stouffer

Janie Stouffer is a Maryland native who transplanted to Petal 10 years ago. She graduated from Towson University with a degree in art education. For the past 20 years, she has been happily married and enjoying staying at home with her 6 kids. She homeschooled for 14 years and has 2 graduates, one homeschooled sophomore, and her 3 youngest attend Petal schools. 

 

After joining the arts council this year, Janie got inspired to pick up her brushes again. All her art, up until this year, had always been for others, either school assignments, commissions, or gifts. 

 

Janie loves acrylic and mixed media. Looking for her muse, she can't help but return to portraits, especially when her children are ever-present and inspiring as models. She is currently painting just for herself while exploring her own style and is thoroughly enjoying the journey.
