Kim Ryland

Kim Ryland is a versatile and innovative artist, specializing in painting, mixed media, sculpture, and pottery. Kim holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM). Her dedication to fostering creativity was practiced in her role as an art teacher for a middle school in Jackson, six years at W.L. Smith Elementary, and eight years at Hattiesburg High School, where she strived to uplift and inspire young artists.

Kim's work is heavily influenced by personal experiences, popular culture, and a profound love for abstract art. Drawing inspiration from television shows, particularly the TV series "Lost", she creates pieces that embody a unique blend of abstraction and narrative storytelling, offering a glimpse into her personal experiences.

Kim's artistic philosophy centers on embracing diverse cultures and integrating them into her art. This gives her works an engaging depth, inviting viewers to connect with the pieces on many levels.
