Pine Needle Basketry with Denine Jones

On June 3rd, our unique Pine Needle Basket Making class, led by the gifted Denine Jones, was a remarkable success. Held in the Petal Room of Hancock Whitney Bank in Petal, MS, the workshop attracted attendees from as far as Pickayune and Sumrall. Participants eagerly delved into the intricacies of this ancient craft, learning to select, prepare, and intricately weave delicate pine needles into unique designs. The class not only imparted a new skill but also fostered a sense of camaraderie among attendees. The Petal Arts Council extends heartfelt thanks to Denine and all the enthusiastic participants.
